Goodness started out as a series of paintings and drawings that were supposed to analyze the
unintended consequences of specific and fairly banal actions such as buying a candy bar. I was
going to mathematically analyze the action and then place that action within a scale of goodness.
The problem was that goodness was and is not so easy to define. It depends on many factors few of which
are culture, sex, position in the social hierarchy. Then I found the equation 1+1=2. So simple and good until you realize there is a whole field of math dedicated to number theory and then it’s all of a sudden much more complex. After all – what is 1 what is 2?
